This bottle came from a lady who was born and lived in Pukchin Korea in the mining camp
of the Oriental Consolidated Mining Company. Her family lived there from 1915 to 1939.
This item was bought from Chinese traders who came over the border into North Korea to
sell their items in the area of Hokuchin.

"She left Korea at 13 years of age and of course her mother and older sisters did the buying
at that time. She especially remembers the lace traders coming across the mountains from
Manchuria to sell their wares and all the bright trinkets and interesting things they brought.
Her mother bought hand made lace and copper and pewter bowls and snuff bottles and jewelry.
They also made a trip to China and brought back many small things. Her memories of things
at that time in Korea are very interesting. Many artist came to the mining camp to sell to the
Europeans and Americans living there. "
