Making a painting brush

Making the brush stock:

To make the penstock a suitable electric wire (copper, aluminum to be possible), about 20cm in length is cut. The insulation is removed about 5-8 cm from one end revealing the metal wire. Using an iron hammer on an anvilthe spot to knock (size flatly with the iron hammer on the anvil, the end is hammered into about 1 square centimeter. This square is then ground to a T shape with a file. This piece is bent perpendicular to the shaft and the wings of the "t" rolled into a circle by using tweezers to bend it around a nail.

Making the painting skill:

Select a superior weasel-hair writing brush or goat's hair writing brush. soak this thoroughly in water to enable the bristles to stick together well.Divide into a suitable size for the brush you desire to make. Spread a thin glue on the selected hairs and lash together tightly with a nylon thread. The tightness of the lashing also affects the brush qualities; too loose the brushis not firm, too tight the brush will easily branchinto multiple tips.Cut from the original with sharp sizzors and add rubber cement to the end as needed.Make long, short, thick and thin brushes according to the needs for the painting.

Finished brushes

Other tools: A water pot for ample water to clean the brush, a color mixing plate and an ear bulb (same type used to wash your ears) to dry the paint on the inside of the bottle while painting.

Bamboo pens are also used to scratch lines.
Drill bits for stone may also be used for fine details.
